II. Worldview Setting

2.1 Doomsday Triggers: Triple Screening

Genetic Virus Outbreak: In 2077, a genetically modified virus called "Crimson Dawn" escapes control, capable of rewriting the genes of almost all organisms, causing terrifying mutations in all life forms worldwide. This virus can infect all life on Earth, including humans, becoming the first screening factor in the collapse of civilization.

A red fog descends: After the virus outbreak, a mysterious red fog appeared in the sky. This fog is actually a "gene filter" from an alien civilization, capable of activating hidden potential in biological gene chains and accelerating biological evolution. However, it also leads to instability in biological genes, causing uncontrolled mutations.

Remnants of nuclear winter: In an effort to control the spread of genetic viruses, governments worldwide launched "Project Ice," using biotechnology-based "freezing bombs" to turn low-lying areas of the world into ice ages, triggering a global nuclear winter. Residual radiation caused some areas to become "dead zones," but it also gave rise to the rare resource "radioactive nuclei."
