When Loran woke up, he found himself to be a desolate baron in the most barren border of another world.

They were faced with a dilapidated, drafty castle, a dozen or so emaciated villagers, barren saline land, and the faint green glow of wolves in the wilderness.

The kingdom's nobles viewed him as a laughingstock, and surrounding powers coveted his small population.
