Introduction to the continent of Atlas

The continent of Atlas is vast and rife with conflict. Its core of power is the Augustan Empire, an ancient kingdom ruled by humans and ruled by noble fiefdoms. The empire's territory is expansive, but imperial power is unprecedentedly weak due to an aging king and an unresolved succession issue. True power lies in the hands of eight hereditary marquises, who vie for control of their own territories, forming alliances and maneuvering between "royalistism," "neutrality," and "separatism," posing a severe challenge to the empire's unity.

Other intelligent races and civilizations on the continent are equally important: the Elven Empire in the west lives in seclusion in the Eversong Forest, guarding ancient magical secrets; the Dwarven Empire has established a magnificent underground kingdom beneath the Broken Blade Mountains, and its people are excellent craftsmen and miners; the Orc Empire in the Crimson Wasteland in the east worships strength and has been fighting against humans for thousands of years; the Swamp Kingdom in the Weeping Swamp in the southeast is mysterious and xenophobic, believing in the life force of corruption; the sea creatures of the Ocean Kingdom rule the endless deep blue; and the legendary giants, dragons and other ancient beings remain aloof, quietly observing the changes of the world.

Currently, the continent is on the eve of transformation. Within the Augustus Empire, the "magical steam engine" technological revolution initiated by Leon von Hohenzollern is challenging the traditional magical power system represented by Elisa Windsor.
