Journey to the West: The White Dragon Refuses to Be a Cow or Horse

He woke up to find himself transformed into a white dragon, destined to be a beast of burden, carrying Tang Sanzang on his journey to the West to retrieve Buddhist scriptures. While others were bestowed with titles of Buddha or Bodhisattva, he was bound to a decorative pillar, becoming a lavish ornament showcasing the majesty of Buddhism. He had traveled from the new century and could not accept this fate. He burned pearls, destroyed jade tablets, cut off his scales and horns, degraded his bloodline, and struggled to survive against all odds.
