While not a particularly great fanfic, this novel is an enjoyable read if you enter with the mindset of it being a powerfantasy, and take everything with a grain of salt. System here is used rather excessively, but it is sufficiently well-written that this isn't particularly a negative. Disregarding the extreme inconsistency with the naming schemes. Overall, not terrible.

This pokemon novel, like many others on this site, uses a system as a crutch for the MC's lack of substance. The issue here is that the author fails to meaningfully utilize the protagonist's backstory as a pokemon researcher for the past two years, having weak worldbuilding and character developement. Furthermore, instead of more realistic methods of identifying pokemon, MC sinply relies on 'talent' and "level" as a means to identify them — other than his omniscient knowledge of pokemon movesets. Essentially, this novel overrelies on the use of a system instead of natural interactions. It also apparently takes place on an Earth-equivalent world instead of the pokemon world, despite supposedly transmigrating into pokemon. Written more like wish fulfillment than a realistic pokemon experience.
