There's disdain directed towards his teammate who goes to a sex worker yet he signed a beauty to be his manager without asking for her qualifications and has sex with her the next day
Agreed with the other review about bad modifications
For example:
I feel like with games like Minecraft that can become huge you don't really need to maliciously modify it for negative emotional farming since there are already mechanisms for it like dying and losing all your items in lava getting jump scared by creeper looking at enderman and getting chased etc
The "overarching plot" is really sparse and uninspired. The romance baiting with some campus characters is weird cuz mc was an uncle already in his past life so any campus romance he'd have would be weird
There was a lot of nationalistic drivel
At ch. 69 and inconsistencies already keep emerging
The first thing he did w the system was practice on a simulated patient which died multiple times until he became proficient at dealing w the problem in the allocated time. Later he gets the opportunity to dissect virtual bodies that simulate a living human and suddenly he's very scared. The last time he did something similar which would help him adapt is not mentioned.
Another inconsistency is that in the beginning he got system points from helping patients without us explicitly hearing that a task was issued. Later point acquisition happened from specific tasks. Now he got points out of "nowhere" again cuz system hadn't issued a task abt it and we're supposed to be surprised with this "new" development.
Too much focus on Song Zimo to the point where I begin to question if he was supposed to be the MC
Meanwhile he's (song zimo's) uninteresting as fuck
I don't care about the romance it's boring feels like bloat for word count
The medical side of it is pretty good except trying to make Chinese traditional medicine useful as is usual with chinese med novels but this time the focus is miniscule
The moral preaching gets a bit heavy handed at times like using a 9 year old to talk about how if humans were immortal and earth became overpopulated humans would be selfish to not give birth anymore
As if human life already exists somewhere in the vacuum just waiting to be born
Can't believe someone involved in sciences wrote this
Good thing is that focus has shifted away from Song zimo. Apparently he was highlighted to show how outstanding mc is
The medical expendables supplier Side plot is going well
From about ch. 200-ish it really gets into nationalistic drivel
I get having a grudge against japanese government and its education system for glossing over numerous horrendous atrocities. I agree with shitting on the country for that reason but you don't have to make people from there comically evil.
MC must get spat on and he has to accept it magnanimously
He's basically giving up his dignity for the sake of career
Discovering youthful adventurousness my ass he's not but a glorified doormat
The interactions with female characters are so forced and uninspired that I have no choice but to skim through it
1st and 2nd time we're fine but the more it kept happening the more boring and tedious it got
And it keeps going for 2-5 chapters with some event interspersed sometimes
They keep looking in each other's eyes and reading emotions and something happens or mc does something to deepen the female character's admiration then rinse and repeat
Those moments are so fucking boring
The novel overall would be much more interesting if those "romantic" subplots were cut out
If you can slog through those boring interactions and mc sometimes being a doormat it's a solid 4/5
Author constantly mentioning "who can refuse Anson" is so forced. Tried to create a cultural moment but was very unconvincing from phrasing to context it was underwhelming in terms of emotional impact but the author still continued beating a dead horse
Took me out of immersion every time
Steep drop in quality after spider man 2 filming starts
Some soap opera type shit
