Gao Shu is an ordinary office worker whose life is irrevocably changed after a dizzy spell pulls him into a mysterious and dangerous game. From that moment on, his mundane existence is replaced by a series of extraordinary and perilous experiences. He finds himself navigating a bloody and grim massacre in a hospital, participating in frenetic underground races on the streets of 1990s Hong Kong, and even taking part in clandestine military operations in the early 21st century.

Each new scenario pushes him to the pinnacle of human skill and artistry, forcing him to live through legendary events that most people could never imagine. While his fate is no longer his own, Gao Shu discovers he has a secret weapon: a unique "flow state" ability that makes the world slow down around him, as if he's in a special-effects movie. To find the reason he was dragged into the game and the origin of his strange new power, his only option is to keep entering the game and survive.
