Mo Chu was a 20-something 21st century woman who switched into a 16 year old comatose young woman living 1000 years later.

Her previous body was born 15 years ago. Due to an incident, her previous body went into a coma when she was still an infant.

When Mo Chu woke up, the World had changed.

Outside the enclaves, animals and plants that used to be mild and docile prey became predators. Beasts that were legends came alive. Humans and beasts mutually hunted each other. Even the legendary elemental powers appeared vividly in front of her!

Humans lived in 12 enclaves governed by a federation. Females were few and well protected under federation law. Three families dominated the top echelon:

- the military Ning;

- the political Qin; and

- the medical Qiao whose interest laid in alchemy.

For the past hundred years, under the Federation, science and medical care had advanced, increasing longevity but there was no known cure to spark her previous body’s brainwaves which was flatlined. Food was scientifically processed ration capsules.

Fortunately, Mo Chu got a warm-hearted brother Mo Yang as soon as she woke up. He was a complete sister con.

Unfortunately, Mo Chu turned out to be the one in a billion with an allergic constitution, and 99% of the existing food was poison to her body.

But there was always a way out.

If she couldn't eat the existing food, couldn't she make some new things by herself?

So, French fries, grilled fish, beggar's chicken... all kinds of delicacies reappeared in the history of mankind a thousand years later.
