i really dont get those genius trash gaowu tropes, like WHAT THE FUCK IS COOL ABOUT BEING CALLED GENIUS? YOU'RE STILL SOME TRASH YOUNG SCHOOL MINION, ANY SLIGHT OLDER TEACHER OR ANYTHING CAN JUST SLAP YOUR PRIDE OUT OF REALITY... wth
i had a whole comparison written, but disappeared bc the site reloaded out of nothing... so now im just going to resume.
even though i didnt read more than 17ch, the whole trope and summary shows how it will be (look at the latter chs, there are ARENAS for STUDENTS fighting 7th level something realm) if you take in consideration than the PE teacher is a 3rd lvl. the big shots on this world view would be at least 5lvl. then you come to me and say: yeah, 7,8 and 9th lvl are powerhouses, but noo those students who also are in those levels arent powerhouses, look they need to do some exam, tournaments and arena fights. while all their Professors are weaker than them.. dont mind the worldview... if anyone didnt understand, because even i didnt:
this world is like, youngsters reaching nascent soul, void refining, etc. but still being some inner sect disciple, doing tasks, exams etc.. while all their teachers were still golden cores... do u see the bullshit now? whats the point of the mc upgrading all his powers and all when all it ends in being stronger than some other student, its a perpetual young novel. the mc will never grow up to be above the system/leaders
I have already read the manhwa till chapter ~600ish.
so people who are wondering whether to read this or not, please go ahead.
One of the best apocalypse-based novels with good development and story.
I admit the start is not good, its slow and idiotic but trust me it will only improve from there.
This has great potienal and the writing only improves over time. The power scaling is also very well defined later. You will feel a sense of cultivation type ( there's always someone stronger than you) novel later. If you're a fan of apocalyptic type, then this is a must-read.
Note - MC personality is very ruthless and shrewd. There will be racism in later chapters.
For me this is very normal and okay, considering this is a rebirth + apocalypse-based novel.
Also, the rating/reviews of this novel are a little unfair/irrelevant because this novels take some time to cook. All low reviewers have hardly read 10% of this.
SPOILERS
1. Since MC dies very early, the rebirth plays almost no major role in later plot development.
2. Few characters' personalities(Teacher) will be very irritating/bad initially but will improve over time.

A bold, brainy subversion of the cultivation genre. Loved for its originality, but divisive for its tone and gender dynamics. Not for everyone—but unforgettable for the right reader.

This novel is objectively terrible. Also very repetitive.
But you pretty much know exactly what you're getting into with the title and the fact it's 4000 chapters.
Anyway, I'm callin it at ~1100 chapters cause he returned to an old realm and EVEN STRONGER PEOPLE ARE WAKING UP. Just send him somewhere else smh.
Anyway, fun enough novel if you don't like it in the first 30 chapters you won't like it.
Very traditional Xianxia setting. MC is reincarnated into a game he has played where he was building a dao of ruthlessness character. The book starts with the MC being in a damaged state due to being stuck by backlash due to some reason(probably due to going against the heavens?). The book is vague intentionally at many places to seem more deep than it is. If you have seen some cultivation movies then this is pretty much exactly like that. There is a lot of sudden things happening which is a characteristic of this kind of eastern fantasy where the supernatural and cultivation elements keep influencing the normal ancient settings. It is interesting to read if you have the patience for it. The vibe is pretty dark overall with a true dog eat dog world setting. The characters are changing as more of the plot happens and you can really get immersed in this world if you want. Just go with the flow and don't dig too deep. It is very fun and how different character act and how their relationships are with the MC of the past and of present is very interesting and the contrast is kinda cool. Worth it if you want to read a good cultivation novel with a good helping of harem. The harem isn't perfunctory kind where they fall in love at first sight, but is built up. Like at this point(ch77) we have one confirmed relationship and that has been brewing for 1500 years. True star crossed lover shit. Very romantic. I loved it. Recommended!! I will update the review if my thoughts change as more relationships and world setting is added in more chapters.
Edit at ch100: Alright the Author flipped the script. Not bad. This got more interesting. I won't spoil the plot twist but it seems we are gonna have a dangerous shuraba at some point. This is gonna be epic if Author can maintain this quality. Looking forward to it.
If you like the grim dark universe of warhammer, then this isn't for you but otherwise, it's a really good novel, it has a lot of comedy and shows a lot of humanity (good side) of 40k. The MC (Ron) is a transmigration psychic who is a governor of a world called Urth. He later becomes the savior, or the primarch of hope because he's a psychic that feeds off of hope energy/prayer from people. He does have a bit of a cheat system with this hope energy and there are some weird moments with it but its still within the realm of 40k.
What I really like about the novel besides the comedy, is that the author also focuses on the pov of other minor characters. We get to understand these minor characters and see how they feel with the changes and hope that the MC brings to the table.
Really the savior ron, is what the emperor always wanted, sure he does some heretical stuff here and there but its hilarious and it helps the imperium.
For those out there complaining about the story being too slow, they need to realize that this is pretty tame, compared to the horus heresy which is still going after 63 books since the early 2000's...
Overall, the MTL is a bit mesy but still readable, its better to have a good basic understanding of 40k before jumping in but not completely unncessary as the author does explain bits and details of the 40k world but basic knowledge doesnt hurt.
Not my style. I don't like MC having a girlfriend. Women are a huge waste of time. You can tell from the reading that he wasted weeks on his girlfriend instead of using that time to improve himself and get stronger. In the beginning, women are not worth wasting time on. Women are just aphrodisiacs. You can buy millions of women or an entire planet if you want.
Hail Hydra!..
Nothing happens for long stretches of time and the cheat is severely underutilized. Questions and mysteries pop up every so often but none really payoff.
Good story. Not a masterpiece but fun to read.
But the translation of 99% of terms is horribly bad.
A wester fantasy, but everything is using eastern terms, including people names! Everything. Everything uses cultivation terms!
I have to click every term, waste time guessing what it is, put my own names. Names even are switched, its annoying af.
Bloody Mandala... What the hell is that? Until I read and analyzed the story... It's a Mandrake!! Li su, xu er, ni san, what the fuck are those names? I have to play guess with google and infer western names to change to like Eric, Sean, Rose, etc.
Wish the Author put in some effort properly giving westerm names to a fucking western magic story!!! Other such stories shows that they can be correctly translated.
An extra nitpick, all spell names are just 1 to 1 (Straight up copy paste) from Dungeons n Dragons. It is fine, but could have been slightly changed.
A viscounty? Call it a province!
A county? Call it a province!
A marquis? Also a province!
A duchy? Hmm... Province this time... Principality another time...
A nation or a grane duchy or an empire? Principality too!
Who needs names!
Lastly, the characters are boring, acting like robots, especially the MC. 0 friends, barely any emotions to his family... A wizard is still a human... Interacted with others and part of a sane organization, yet after every major event, they just part ways, not a single word... Where's the spice?
It's all just... Mc cultivating, event occurs, everyone fighting, mc shows off super power, reap everything, leaves.
The more I read, the more I lose interest... What a disappointment. Author just wanting to milk fans of this genre yet unwilling to even properly write it
Indeed, bewarned this is not a wizard story. There is 0 research or pursuit of the so-called truth, it's just literally a cultivation novel with a wizarding skin... People just sits cross legged, "comprehending" for hundreds of years, few break through... Schools like alchemy, puppets, etc. Are just flavor.
