Just wondering if a Chinese writes a different countries novel they fully trash that country. Why when writing Chinese novel they go full saint mode? Just cause they can get killed?

First the Novel started nicely. But from the middle during sky Island/Skypia chapter it started going way too off about the main character. He was supposed to be a good guy. He instead starts enslaving the people??
