MC is too brutal, which I can ignore but the main drawback of this novel is that I feel the world building and character building are somewhat lacking.

A very good novel, perfectly portraying the rise of the protagonist's family, a bit realistic, like the protagonist's wife not wanting to be an immortal, the pacing is good, overall one of the better novels that I have read.
