It started off fine but then the author turned it into a xianxia thing, when originally it seemed to go in a wuxia + evolution/scifi + alien invasion direction. The author tries to convert an apocalypse novel into a xianxia novel, he must have run out of content/creativity for the apocalypse but did not want to start a new novel, so he forcefully convert wuxia (martial arts) into xianxia (immortal arts). Or the novels viewer/support rate dropped so he changed direction to get more money.
It was fine until he separated from his siblings and went to the human world. Basically, there are multiple different power system realms. I can see the humans and demons having different realm names. But the humans have different realm names for each faction, Xuantian and Buddhist have different names for realms. Then the heavenly official faction has another set of names for realms, even though its actually the same cultivation system as the xuantian. It used to be that the mc had high combat power (one or two small realms) but once he was in the human realm his combat power dropped even his actual body was nerfed to the point he struggled with people in the realm. Heck, he used to have to eat a lot of food, but suddenly his main body requires no food. Even his interest in tasting/devouring everything has gradually been lost and it only shows up again when mentioning stealing treasures. Basically, whatever rules were established in the beginning are changed once he entered the human world. Started okay but dropped in quality around chapter 230 when he made a human clone, before then he was portrayed as not wanting to be human again to the point of a phobia. His dream of sleeping, eating and being lazy just flew right out the window.
It seems pretty average. The story is not bad and the pacing seem alright. Because it is a CN Harry Potter ff it has the common problem of everyone suddenly gets a taste of Chinese food or sudden interest in chinese things. Its not to the point where the mc is actively trying to promote china but he sneaks in comments within his thoughts (And because he is a cultivator). I dont know where it comes from but it seems that the mc/author doesnt know that fruits and vegetables are not solely grown in china because anytime he can he always mentions the strawberries and other fruits/vegetables in china, to the point he has to buy and import the seeds from china. No face slaps so far. All in all the flaws are tolerable considering it has the same problems you'll find in most CN HP ff.
There were a couple parts I did not like but considering that it was a short story I tolerated it. And I am disappointed. The author was setting stuff up with that group chat and ended up going nowhere. I thought he would have invaded the various worlds of the chat members, but he only entered one and that's it. We also never got to see the mythical daluo or a supreme honghuang. Basically the mc reach great dao level and novel ended.
It's a Zongman ff, you know exactly what your getting into. The mc goes around collecting familia members. The way the mc discovers other worlds is that he absorbs his alternate counterparts when they die and inherit their memories and abilities. If you like those Zongman and comprehensic Anime/Comic fanfics then this is probably for you. Compared to whats been coming out recently, its... tolerable! The biggest problem is that the translation of the names starts getting worse.
