Read 47Ch. #6
I’m forced to rate in order to comment, so here’s a nonsense one-star just to unlock my right to speak. Why are so many Chinese web novels obsessed with the main character hiding their powers? It's becoming comical. Take this example from THIS NOVEL: “Naturally, Chu Yun didn't dare to do his exercises directly on the sports field. Otherwise, if he dared to run ten kilometers and then do so much follow-up training on the sports field, he believed that hospital personnel would arrive very soon, and even more seriously, scientists would arrive immediately.” Seriously? Scientists will come because some random chubby guy ran 10 kilometers and did 300 push-ups? This isn't even a cultivation novel—it’s just a modern setting. Are we really supposed to believe that in this "super-safe" country, anyone showing basic physical competence is suddenly flagged as an alien by the government? The contradiction is wild: chinese novels constantly talk about how safe and advanced the country is, yet apparently, if you exercise too hard, you get abducted by scientists. Is China in these stories a utopia or a dystopia? Pick one. The reality is—authors want the MC to hide his powers so they can drag out the plot and do the classic face-slapping scenes later. But it’s getting ridiculous. These exaggerated scenarios just break immersion. Honestly, it feels less like suspense and more like paranoia wrapped in plot armor.
