The first 50 chapters are great, but after that, the MC appears less and less. The author delves into plots that have little to no significance for the MC, and instead of summarizing them in one paragraph, he often sacrifices more than a whole chapter.
The author's writing style is not to my liking. In kingdom-building novels, I prefer the POV to always stay with the protagonist. Instead of jumping to the other side of the world to show a battle, the POV should stay with the MC and show him reading the report from that battle.
Another issue is the author's constant communist 'easter eggs.' For example, the first unit the MC commands is called the Red Army, he is sometimes referred to as 'comrade,' and there are many allusions to the Chinese Communist Revolution, etc.
