this is a sweet romance story. the other reviewer is probably the troll from a few months ago who just went around 1 starring all female protagonist romance stories. dunno why. strange hobby. about the story: I think it's fine. I don't like how cliché it is, but I think that's just bc I've read too many of this type of story. I also don't like how the ML is represented; he's manly bc he beats up other men, he's better than all these others bc of his physical strength, when he was in the army he got a bullet removed without anaesthetic but he was drugged a little and raped the MC bc she was his dream woman?? ok. it's really very old-timey, a more modern novel usually wouldn't have these. but the translation is readable, the story makes sense, there's many subplots under the romantic main plot and it seems fine.
the story is fine. it is a bleak representation of what constant natural and man made disasters would be like, and the helplessness of normal humans in the face of it all. it is a depressing look into the dirty parts of society; how even in the literal apocalypse people with money and power can even get the news of the disaster and prepare for it 7 months earlier while billions of people have no idea and die in silence. the MC isn't a rapist, but I can see why someone came to that conclusion. the MC invited a woman and her sick sister into the base to fulfill a system quest. he had a previous quest reward that gave him biochips to ensure loyalty and he gives one each to them. the sick sister does seem to have a romantic relationship with the MC but it isn't shown or talked about much at all. it's more like hinted at. when she wakes up from a coma, she jokingly calls him master and he doesn't correct her. there's a scene where he's working in the control center and she comes up to him from behind, acting coquettishly, and he pulls her into his lap. there's another scene where he goes to bed and finds her sleeping there (she has her own bed) and he thinks to himself that it's "time to eat her soon". my problem with the heroine(s) is that the author could have replaced them with a dog and the story wouldn't have changed much. other than the occasional 1 or 2 lines about them "working on research" or "cooking meals" these 2 women literally have no screen time. idk why the author bothered to write them at all. there was an author's note where the author said something about how the story wouldn't be complete without a heroine and I think that's grade a BS. replace the management work with a stronger ai, get a dog or a cat or something and these 2 human women that the author says are so important are completely replaceable. and that's kinda sad. solid 3 star story I binged it just fine. I don't have any gripes with it other than the heroines and also the ai needing to be upgraded but just isn't... forever.
translation is okay. later on missing half of the chapter compared to the raw site. the story isn't really that different from others in the genre, it just adds more good nonsense for laughs. I don't understand 0why the annoying ones haven't been killed yet. every time it just seems like the author is keeping them so they can talk about the survivors in the hotel, but there's plenty of survivors that are nameless and faceless to choose from, why bring back idiots who have nothing to do but scheme against the only person who can provide unlimited food and a safe location...
slow, cultivation slice of life. the MC is reincarnated to be op af and he uses all that op-ness to corrupt the world of cultivation by making video games. it's also not a story where the author is taking popular games and remaking them either; it's taking the essence of a game genre and what would work in a cultivation world and creating a new idea. it's interesting and funny and I like it a lot. unfortunately the author is very horny sometimes. not all the time, but I'll be reading a storyline that's devoid of anything erotic and all of a sudden it's pg16 with no warning. dunno what that's about.
bog standard transmigration into a book story. the FMC ends up in the supporting female role's body, the sister of the original heroine. she doesn't attack the heroine/hero she mainly sticks to herself. she marries King Xuan who is a "villain", but everyone inside the books is more 3d than 2d after the transmigrating so hes not really a villain. it's good, the writing is ok, the translation is fine. I don't like the plot where she gets herself captured on purpose but I don't like any plot where the MC gets captured on purpose; I think it's cheap and never done well. I don't understand why all these men are revolving around the MC either, she doesn't ever respond favourably. are they all masochists? happy to love a woman who thinks you're shit? other than that it's fine.
the author has a beautiful way of looking at the world. just from the first arc, they paint a realistic and heartbreaking story of the realisms of people fighting for their rights to exist. I'm not sure why there's a review saying it's AI generated, and I'm not sure why the author said that the MC is a psychopath either. the MC is a little antisocial, but it doesn't seem like he hates people at all. he is very interested in the human condition; he just prefers books to people, and I can't judge him for that. this story is more like vignettes in time and space. the MC doesn't seem to do much but spread knowledge and be a spectator to the consequences, and that's enough. it's fascinating and I see why the author was complaining that they had no good books to read so they had to write their own. it's short, but thought provoking and insightful. there's really nothing wrong with it at all. yes, the first arc is about the rise of feminism. I don't see why this is controversial, except to be edgy and contrarian. it's a good story.
c92: the author put a note saying that there's a lot of Chinese content in this story and it's true. it's a standard modern day protagonist waking up in the Interstellar and using modern day skills to make a living. it's not really food focused, it's more on reviving and introducing ancient Chinese history and "ancient" modern day Chinese history. it's not poisonous it is bog standard for this type of story. the tags are wrong, it's a female protagonist. idk why the other reviews are saying it's bad it's literally no different from others except it's not food, it's online novels. will update this review if it sucks later but it's a very chill read. ETA: this novel is exceptionally warm and sweet. it's a good read if you want something relaxing and not too high stakes. it does have nationalism, but it's not the type that puts down other cultures; it's a celebration and appreciation of Chinese culture and a look into lost histories. I really don't know why the reviews are so low, it's really a non-toxic story.
This author puts a spin on the standard story of transmigrating to a paraellel world and making money using popular entertainment media from Earth. Instead of the MC having a great memory and knowing how to perfectly recreate every piece of popular media they've ever watched, this MC has a system that gives him the media in it's entirety for points. the MC also doesn't just recreate the stories and songs wholesale either; he quite often reshapes them to elevate the originals or to appeal to the people on the parallel planet. I don't ever listen to the songs or watch the media associated with these kinds of stories, but this one felt more like a love letter to the author's favourites and classics rather than "this made a lot of money ofc it would make a lot of money here too". it's like if you had the money and resources to make your favourite piece of media better, remove the flaws, and introduce it to a whole lot more people for it to be appreciated. there's not really a bad guy or a villain, everybody is kind of not competition. it's also a little weird when the author takes popular American media and makes it go global because everything else is purely Chinese popular media but I guess it's just the wish fulfilment aspect. no major problems in plot. the translation sucks do not read it on here go somewhere else and get a translate extension
why are the other reviews so stupid... it's just a mistag.... it's a female protagonist why are y'all acting like she jumped out of the book and killed your families.... there's nothing wrong with the translation 10 chapters in. I'll actually make a review when I read on ETA: the other reviews are still stupid. as of c:53 there's no glaring translation problems or plot issues. this is a bog standard "transmigration into another world with a system and use the system to pull souls from earth as players" story. it's only gender swapped. I think it deserves 3 stars so far bc I did get bored with it but I'm keeping the 5 stars bc I haven't seen a gender swapped male oriented story in this genre before.
story was fine, MC was fine, the ML wasn't super annoying, the MC had female friends and didn't have every woman who saw her as an enemy, but some of the enemies were really inexplicable. most villains were peach blossoms of her biological relatives and for some reason neither she nor her cousins ever thought it made sense to just come clean about their relationships and instead they all sat back to watch the drama. the MC is op and I didn't think it was annoying at first, but then she started learning and becoming even more op "off screen" so we didn't even see her choosing to learn anything; it was the author going "oh she can do this perfectly now". it was like checking off boxes on a list - stone gambling, stocks, business, fashion, face reading and telling fortunes, shooting guns, martial arts, chinese instruments, western instruments... idk if the author ran out of ideas or what. then it started getting very nationalistic, with the author worth a billion dollars or more in her teens still competing in school competitions for money and fame, extracurriculars, donating her time to the military... it wasn't bad I just don't think it was a well thought out story near the end. the livestream also got boring, and the MC even complained how it wasn't that much money but then she said she was doing it for merit? but we didn't see any cultivation benefits for it, so idk why that was mentioned.
