This story really is Gou achieve martial arts with clones. Which is the problem. He's a tepid dog trying to get ahead disconnected from the world and conflicts grinding on. His friendships are transactional and drama is mostly something that happens to other people. He's more like an extra territorial demon than a transmigrator. There's no sense of personal feel from the hometown. He's like a sociopath and not as a character trait but he's really not there.
This story is just kinda dumb. The world isn't fleshed. The language isn't descriptive. People don't think properly and mc isn't likeable cause he doesn't have a brain and is inconsistent on being , social, nice, mean ruthless or protective. Like the corrupt government says we can't charge in a militant faction in a child theft case , when they can rob and bully women at will. Even more importantly the literally caught member red headed and people broke in the next night without the arrested person being announced at all. In any world let alone such a corrupt one that a slam dunk warrant. Also this guy plays with his food. The mc that is. People try to kill him and he doesn't murder him back despite knowing where he sleeps even long after being completely superior to him and knowing he wants to rob his woman.
Sixty five chapters till the Japanese pirates showed up. No immersive dialogue. Characters are wooden and friendship pretend depth but reduce the friend into a pendant that only conviently help level up. His alcoholism isnt delved into neither is wine for good and ill. Despite being a drunker sword immortal wine is more like a magic potion that makes stats go up. Character doesn't exist. Like dad has mythical wine and there for must be a gigachad veteran but he looks like and has the knowledge reserve of a random commoner. Commits cardinal sin of gamer fic and litrpgs. It uses game mechanics to skip growth instead of shrink it. Wine isnt wine and doesn't make you drunk and give enlightenment through the flavor and energy in it letting you train in drunken dreams. He can stack swords infinitely and cheaply. But that takes the meaning of a sword out of the sword immortal. It also makes him OP without thought until he meets even more absurd challenges. There's no meaningful sense of growth or the world.
This story is less a story and .ore and outline. The world is t deeply explored despite being interesting and a scale isn't understood at all. It's more like a check list of hax things mc did without serious immersion and there is a lot of water. Even the book repeats four sometimes five times reorganizing the words.
Voted a bit higher cause of the idiots giving blank reviews or stupid reviews but feel like a three. This story is kinda average petering out. The protagonist is yet another member of the laughs at the end Gou school of immortality. He starts as a country boy with a family and slowly fumbles his way up through martial arts on the way to cultivation and through the tides of officialdom. His chest is powerful and long form. Increasing his talent a little bit ever single day for everything and burning it for special traits. He practices, interacts with his family makes friends, levels up through official dom and lives life in a decaying dynasty of the old world. That decaying is really part of the problem and living life and gou. And his cheat. Da wei is corrupt hopelessly corrupt. So corrupt I don't know how it functions even accounting for super human stasis which should make it less corrupt with the way warriors burn resources and food peasants have no rights in the face of power and people abuse it so much I don't know how they haven't crashed and burned their supporting population of serfs into oblivion. The level of productivity is abysmal. Everyone everywhere needs bribes even in the midst of a rebellion target the demons sealed by stability of society and all the immort people in power know about. Speaking of productivity that are not enough cultivation subjects or general jobs or importing of Earth things. His chest is super talents at everything with time that explicitly makes him smarter and able to learn more but crafting is an after thought and literature rarely mentioned. The author couldn't right a smart person getting smarter and despite modernisation mc is seemingly incurious and not into learning. Also serious classist issues. MC gets no respect but also under dresses continuously to no benefit at all. Finally mc is Gou like a dog. Oh he kills people. But if he wasnt luckier than a tianjiao his risk avoidance would see him die of old age as an ignorant Einstein. P
The idiot known as death thinks orphans are good. They are bad. Disconnected sociopaths as typically written. A person needs roots and motivations. We are reading a book and it is the character interplay and motivations that give meaning. We can't rely on art for example. Lingshan is earth and continually growing, learning and interacting and building up on himself. This makes him grounded in the world and a person. That makes this story good.
This novel has media based problems. Specifically he grows intermittently at the speed of reading instead of at the speed written in the plot. Thus the protagonist seems really stupid. Especially when he's spending thousands of years of life beating his head into the wall instead of investing in skills or his ability. He's taking forever to make a proper five element technique for example. It's annoying.
The character is fine. It talks about the upsides of selfishness but never makes being a good person dumb. Rather it continually purports that being a responsible good person who goes all the way to the dark under the premise of not outing your heart is optimal. the good deeds of yesterday continually feed back. I like it. Hed make a good paladin. Though there is some issues with plot control. Specifically the Lin lady plot is too transparent and dropped the ball. MC signed a contract of the soul with her to obey dispatch. It's wasnt a slave one but he was pretty rebellious for not having scry protection more than qi condensation. More specifically I can't possibly imagine any contract would allow the workers to run from combat without carrying her off and definitely not kill her under any circumstances. Spoiler. He kills her when she sees his face cause of a transportation takes off his gear?
Gets super racist and has Japan est and worship nuclear waste for lulz
Xiao Yan is a waste. Xun er is a cheater despite being out in a relationship she never asked for or entertained until she was given like a prize. With the inane idea that in this forced relationship non compliance hurt her status. That's rape. The MC gets power not by hard work and derring do but by the emotions of others. All this says is the despite having one thousand times the back ground and knowing the plot, he still needs a system to fail to compete with another transmigrator who's only cheat was a mentor in what matters. And is heralded as a genius for emotionally bullying a girl he trapped in a marriage despite literally knowing she liked someone else. Gu Fei is a punk.
