Starting from the moment when Lin Daiyu learned that her father, Lin Ruhai, was gravely ill, she returned home in haste. After her return, Lin Ruhai, encouraged by his daughter’s presence and aided by a fortunate encounter with a renowned physician, recovered from his illness.

Later, Grandmother Jia, missing Daiyu dearly, fell ill. With no other choice, Daiyu had to return once more to the Rongguo Mansion to keep her grandmother company. From then on, her conduct and manner changed—no longer did she seek to outshine others; she only wished not to be wronged.

When Lady Wang ordered a thorough inspection of the Grand View Garden, Daiyu, in righteous anger, returned to her home. Lin Ruhai, too, retired from official service, and father and daughter enjoyed a peaceful life together.

Unexpectedly, Prince Beijing, Shui Rong, truly admired and loved Daiyu. The Emperor bestowed a marriage upon them, and Daiyu entered the prince's household as his principal wife.

After marriage, the couple lived in deep affection, growing old together in harmony. They had three children: the eldest son Xu, the eldest daughter Xiao, and the younger son Chen.
