Read 2367Ch. #2270
This could’ve been a great novel if the author hadn’t dragged it out so much. We were constantly told about the grandeur of the immortal world, but it was never actually shown. The entire 2200+ chapters are spent in the mortal realm. The MC’s cultivation progressed painfully slow until around chapter 2000, and then everything got crammed into the last 200 or so chapters, making the story feel rushed and chaotic. I really enjoyed the early part when the MC stayed hidden in seclusion and only acted when absolutely necessary, but that changed quickly after he left his domain. He became way too high-profile, a stark contrast to how he was before and suddenly everyone wanted to kill him. Personally, I prefer stories where the MC remains in seclusion most of the time. By the end, both the MC and the system felt nerfed. It ends on an open note, with the MC heading to the next world—but unfortunately, we’ll probably never get to read that part. The author could’ve easily covered both the mortal and higher worlds within 2k chapters, but instead, dragged everything out and wasted the potential.
That said, it still wasn't a bad read overall—decent enough to pass time. Wanted to give it 2.5 stars but since that isn't possible, gave it a 3.
