Hair dryers, shavers, mineral water bottles, notebooks… In this world, all sorts of things can become demons.
To protect humanity, demon catchers emerged in response to this chaotic world and were universally praised.
Above the demon catchers, there was an even more special group — they traveled through time and space, walked in other realms, and silently dedicated themselves to the world. They were called the Time-Space Walkers. And Li Ye was among the best of them, a national hero…
But in another universe, he was described like this: “Records of the Cosmic Calendar · Biographies of Li Ye: The disaster of demon catchers, even more so than the demons themselves. The greatest calamity among them is Li Ye, to whom other demon catchers are not even a fraction. Future generations encountering him should respect and honor him. Do not oppose him — if you do, it may lead to the annihilation of your clan…”
Top. The start is a bit weird and the actions the mc takes were kind of incomprehesible but it quickly got better. Just hold on until he brings the angler to the council from that point the story gets progressively better in my opinion.
In its essence this is a slice of life/ comendy novel of the mc who lifes daily life but encounters more and more supernatural phenomenon. Additionally, the mystery revolves around the mc's transmigration as well as some unknowns in the world.
He and his patchwork family just have fun with whatever life throws at them.
For those being worried about the mc being unaware of his own power, don't worry about it as he becomes quickly aware of what he can do but still learns more about himself as the novel goes on. He does realise pretty quickly that nobody treats him as a normal awakend, there are no misunderstandings here.
Well, I didn't read far so take it with a grain of salt but here is my review.
Story? No clue, I only read like 15 chapters so I can't comment much.
Worldbuilding? Horrible... nothing gets explained. I still don't even know how many cultivation levels there are and what they are called but realm names get thrown around as if we should know what they are... I have read my fair share of cultivation novels over the last 5 years or so but I have no clue whatsoever happened here.
The mc seems to have transmigrated into a novel since 10 years ago, at the age of 10 more or less. This novel has also been read by him and he knows a lot of details about it but somehow still has no grip on the common sense if you read between the lines. I won't go into detail because of wordlimits but if you have read enough similar novels you should know what I mean.
Backround? Somehow everyone is dead?? Mc's dad, his mother, other elders except external ones, the last emperor, the mother of the current empress... (some are my guesses but should be close enough) and now the 2 people with the highest cultivation (we were told there are some hidden ones) but somehow a 20 year old prime minister and a 16 year old empress are the ones with the highest cultivation...(yes the parrents transfered theirs but it still makes no sense, if it is this easy why don't others pass down cultivation in theri own family)
Last but not least, cultivation is wierd... it is oddly weak but somehow still strong? Mc anihilated more than a few sects (solo I guess) so power levels should scale quite a bit later on but they don't seem to have superhumen perception or the ability to fly? Even the cultivation techniques are wierd which becomes glaringly obvious after the princess soul injury in chapter 16 or so.
In the end it's a problematic worldbuilding that puts me off, it doesn't matter if it's lacking a bit but it is a huge problem if there wasn't a single thought put into it... 15 chapters and there are at least 10 plotholes already.
Awsome world building, nice story and actual likeable side characters who are important to the story. Main focus stays on the mc, so don't worry about shifted focus midway through the story. Up to the current chapter there is probably no character I don't like and I even feel a bit bad about rippers final showdown with mc (I know she is bad but she didn't have a conflict with mc, this was just backround created by his power and now they have to kill each other, maybe it will change but hope is slim) the villains are cool, the heros are ok and the final boss (probably organisation) is still a mystery. There are tiny hints at nationalism but it is only in the way of him picking chinese characters above others and diliberately lowering the stats of other potential avatars in the character creation phase if they are non-chinese. But this review is written at chapter 200 maybe the future will change that part. The mc did give a negative comment about japanese work live but really nothing more than that no need to worry. Ignore Idbadreviews the mc kill 9 people in japan and that was only finishing off people that were already dead, his character does level up by killing but he only kills demons too level up. Even in the auction arc where the whole mission was to kill everyone he didn't kill a single person throughout. Even after that he hasn't killed anyone.
Well, it should be your typical urban rich story with woman everywhere you look but I haven't read enough to judge that part. If you ignore the woman part than it's quite good so far but don't take my word for it, haven't read much after all. I just have a feeling that he will have more than one girlfriend but maybe I am wrong. I would be happy if someone could give a review on how many woman he has in the newest chapters cus I don't want to read harem but maybe I am wrong and he stays loyal, who knows. If some who has read everything would be so kind and to tell us that would be nice, cus the tags on this novel are quite spars.
