Chapter 1

The entire court watched as the heartbroken young emperor canceled morning court for days, absent-minded and grieving. He gave Empress Yichun the highest honors in burial: tiger-emblazoned banners, phoenix carriages, imperial parasols, and a place in the ancestral temples—an extravagant tribute of mourning.

As for Lu Fufu, she had a little secret she never told Mu Linchuan:
