Story concept of 10k sword soul spirit is good, but I have 3 main complaints:

1. The plot about MC's spat with gangzi is really unnecessary. Just like other reviewer say, why gangzi appear out of nowhere and belittling MC? its just author's deliberate attempt to make gangzi become MC's enemy

2. The loophole about MC attaching a bunch of spirit rings to his martial spirit. It's known that before bibi dong, no owner of twin martial spirit survive because their body can't withstand attaching many spirit rings. Yet when it come to MC not only he didn't explode, but his body become stronger the more he attached spirit rings. The reason why spirit master body becomes stronger after attaching spirit ring isn't because of spirit ring itself, but because their cultivation realm get breakthrough, thus making subsequent spirit rings attached become stronger than previous one.

MC's situation is quite illogical, unless MC's sword martial spirit himself is special, able to absorb energy in spirit rings as nutrients to strengthen MC's body.

3. MC's attempt to steal blue silver emperor and her spirit bones is too risky. Even if MC need to wait several months he should only steal when tang hao escort tang san to notting academy, not when tang hao still live in holy spirit village. Seriously, this kind of impatient mindset is seriously unnecessary since with MC's talent few months of slacking off will not affect him in the slightest, yet MC risk tang hao find out and kill him, just to steal spirit bones few months earlier. MC's succeeded to steal mostly because of plot armor luck.

And instead of attaching a bunch of low level spirit rings, it'll be much better if MC try to attempt to fuse his 10k sword spirit to increase its quality. Tbh 1 sword spirit with quality surpass divine grade is much better than 10k mediocre sword spirit, and 10k mediocre sword spirit being fused will certainly surpass divine grade martial spirit (like qian renxue's angel god spirit).

This novel felt boring and frustrating for me, mainly because of the MC. Almost every MC in these types of stories wants chaste, serious women—and I have no problem with that, since I share the same preference. But in the very first chapter, this MC is shown playing around in bars, hooking up with random women. He doesn’t even care about the girl whose virginity he takes; he only fears she might call the police. If she were pregnant, it’s clear that without the system, he would’ve simply run away.

Heck, even after getting the system, he didn’t go look for her. She was drugged, she was poor, and she seemed to be a serious girl who cared a lot about her first time. Losing it in such a way left her in her most vulnerable position, and he slept with her unprotected. Even if it wasn’t entirely his fault, shouldn’t he at least confirm she’s alright? Instead, he just cowered, afraid of jail. Truly a wonderful, fan-favorite protagonist...

Most heroines are written with a “purity value” of 100, but why isn’t the MC held to the same standard? Even if he wants a harem, why lower himself to meaningless one-night stands? Worse, he isn’t even sincere toward the women he is with right now—he just drifts along, shallow and insincere. To me, that makes him not just cowardly and irresponsible, but also hypocritical.

What bothers me most is how the novel tries to equate this behavior with masculinity. But does sleeping with many women really make someone masculine? To me, that feels like fake masculinity. True masculinity should come from responsibility, discipline, and commitment—not promiscuity. The story fails here because it doesn’t match its own ideals, and that hypocrisy ruined it for me.

I know many people (probably 90% of the male audience) will enjoy this type of “stud MC” because he’s living the dream life they fantasize about. But for me, it all feels shallow, and I just can’t respect it.

This is the most comedic villain novel I have read in a while. The MC gets rewards for emotional surges from the female leads. Of course unlike other MCs who would see this is a increase favorability = rewards, this guy also uses other emotions like anger, frustration, etc.. which makes his interactions much more fun to watch.

The system is pretty much a deus ex machina where whatever rewards he gets are plot relevant pretty quickly. Which is fine since it makes everything more fun than if he was simply scheming like the other "villain" MCs do.

I see a lot of reviews have not even read that many chapters which makes it harder to judge how good a story is, but that does illustrate the point that if you can get past the initial chapters then you will enjoy this. Otherwise, this story might not be for you. The tone has been pretty consistent for now with the Author keeping everything light hearted.

The heroines are also not paper cutouts but have their own things going on. For now the balance for screen time is fine and I have not forgotten any important characters but that is an inevitability once more and more characters get added since I don't see any limits being placed on the number of heroines as of yet.

Recommended if you want a funny harem villain story. It is fun.
