Due to an accident, Li Guang traveled to the Marvel Universe, unaware that he was involved in a conspiracy spanning both worlds.

On a rainy night in New York, his joke "Snake SHIELD" attracted Hydra's deadly pursuit, and also opened the prelude to the interweaving of two worlds - the Marvel Universe and the "First World" of Final Fantasy 14.

In the First World, the flood of light devours darkness, and sin-eating spirits wreak havoc. Li Guang unexpectedly encounters the mysterious catgirl Ashem, a warrior of light summoned from the First World. The two discover a striking similarity between their soul ethers, resembling their selves from another world.

To find the truth and combat the flood of light, they journey between the two worlds, unraveling the mystery of the conflicting laws of physics.
