Slow paced, detailed, entertaining and immersive. One issue is that it has pretty bad translation. It's much more effective to find the original chineese version and have google translate it. Much better than this current old mtl translation. Review as of Chapter 225.
Review as of Ch.222: It's a slow burn novel that turns into a forest fire. From wandering, to building a shed, to building a house, to building a manor, to building a castle. And yes, the population also grows alongside. The first chapters are slow, but it helps you envision/imagine a world around the main character, so when the story picks up; you already can fill in the gaps. I have high expectations for the next 400 chapters. 5/5
Hands down 5 stars.
Actual 5 stars. Very good. (Also some references to H) Ch 6: So far so good; I'm immersed. Ch 56; Pretty good kingdom building. Unique scenario and the MC is using modern knowledge to his advantage. Ch. 220: Very good kingdom building book. I recommend. 5 stars Ch. 400: *Spoiler?* Book name takes effect, he gets a "daughter". There is no such thing as "Leftover Men" in china. There is "Lying Flat" and "Leftover women". Lying flat means, that men gave up on society, do the bare minimum to survive the day while doing nothing/entertainment every day. @ChristinaKane - Due to the 1-child policy, there has been too many men born compared to women. Which gave women very high "standards", then got career brainwashed. But yes, the high male-to-female ratio did create a bunch of simps willing to slave away. SK advanced technologically too quickly which kept some old outdated ideologies, they ended up clashing. And Male to Female relations there collapsed. People don't want to have kids; and are too vain with themselves.
Not apocalypse style, its a video game...
Chapters are incomplete, ch. here have ~7000 words; but on another chineese website, chapters have ~9500 words
"USA Bad" living rent free in authors head. But the story itself is fine if you ignore the author bashing other countries for no reason. You could remove all the chapters about USA bashing, and it will not change anything about the story (except remove that crap) Ch. 128 as of review "Blond Hair, Blue Eyes", I come across chineese authors always referring to Americans as this. I have lived in USA my whole life and i can say that i rarely, if ever see anyone with this description. This aint' Germany, 1945 buddy. Ch. 216 update
At first, this novel seemed like another "trashnovel" with an overpowered protagonist and predictable tropes. However, it quickly stood out as an entertaining and engaging story. Set in an apocalyptic world, the main character uses a golden finger system to thrive while others struggle to survive. Despite the familiar premise, the pacing is spot-on, and the story never drags, even after 133 chapters. EDIT: @PeatslandHole bwahahahaha One unique aspect is how the harem is handled. Unlike other apocalyptic novels where female characters fade into the background, here, each contributes to the story and evolves alongside the protagonist. This attention to character development, even for side characters, keeps the story fresh. With new arrivals, some personalities clash. The protagonist’s laid-back approach. He avoids unnecessary confrontations but deals with enemies decisively when pushed. His interactions with the survivor community are pragmatic, trading resources for work while ignoring entitled demands, which feels grounded and relatable. The descriptive writing brings the apocalyptic setting to life, making it easy to imagine the scenarios. While the plot is predictable, it’s a feel-good mix of wish fulfillment and survival. The romance is prevalent but balanced. No explicit writing Overall, this is a fun read for fans of apocalyptic novels, especially those who enjoy overpowered protagonists and a harem done right. With no major pacing or consistency issues, it’s perfect for readers seeking light, entertaining escapism. 5*
