A story that's supposed to be about a guy trying to live an easy going life, except the 'cheat' he gets at the beginning of the story literally prevents that. Stuff is constantly going on, there is no downtime. As soon as he starts to relax, his 'talent' kicks in and some event that disturbs his way of life occurs. Not my thing for this kind of story.
Entertaining for what it is. A mindless novel about a game that merges with reality, and with his destiny bestowed chest, the MC stands above all else unparalleled. A 'healthy' amount of nationalism and a 'dash' of sexism, and this novel has truly met its modern day setting quota. Everything else is to standard and to be expected, however the MC utilizes a cultivation-esque power system this time, and the novel does a good job incorporating the NPCs as living beings. Entertaining if you're able to turn off your brain and possibly skim chapters.
Dark story. Protagonist is seemingly bipolar, sometimes kind and sociopath-like. Whole premise of the story is that he's going on a journey to get revenge on the one that destroyed his future. However, I stopped reading at my chapter point because I got the vibes that he was about to become a pawn in a power game and go through an long arc(s) of getting stronger and jumping off the board. I was right, and through some chapter skimming, find that he doesn't take revenge on the chapter 1 story plot until chapter 894. So if you intend to read, be ready for a long one.
Slice of life. Very, slice of life. Action is basically non-existent and as far as I've read currently, 95% of the story consists of scenes within the small shop the MC has opened. Very cute and entertaining though.
Very entertaining. There are definitely inconsistencies, with how the character reacts to certain differing situations, however the protagonist will generally react to similar situations the same way every time. Usually is quite lighthearted when he's traveling with his Pokemon, however it gets darker in other aspects and sometimes feels a bit forced. Overall a good read and very entertaining if you're experienced with Pokemon fan novels.
