It’s actually pretty decent, but has issues that massively drag it down. The first half is plagued by incessant nationalism and the demonization of Japan. It’s totally out of pocket and comes across as highly hypocritical. The second half with the aliens, the characters seem to get progressively more dumb. And characters seem to be more their role than actual characters. This could have been significantly better than it was with what feels like very little effort.
Good narrative, but the writing isn’t amazing. The author is a master of using a lot of words to say very little. I take no issue with the story direction, but Christ there’s only so many times I can re-read someone “absorbing mysterious energy” to make the numbers go up. Just pages and pages and pages of this.
The title is accurate, really not a whole lot to say about this series, it’s incredibly childish, characters with the protagonist are unfailingly good for no discernible reason while everyone against the protagonist is cartoonishly evil and inexplicably stupid despite being in positions of power. I get the impression that the author is really young. The word building really just doesn’t work out, the characters aren’t believable, the MC is disgustingly op, faces no challenges what so ever, and all reveals and drama get pretty much off screened. So instead we just have praise fluff. It’s not terrible but there’s no substance either.
It’s such a nothing burger. 40 chapters and nothing has happened. Seriously it’s the type of work that’s written in an overly flowery way meant to impress the stupid while saying nothing. The characters are all dull, the MC has zero personality or goals, the world takes FOREVER for anything to happen. It’s mostly just worthless exposition, I’m getting background historical context that has absolutely zero bearing on the story or characters and it’s just dull to read. Interesting idea genuinely awful execution.
It’s pretty good but I feel like the premise holds it back? The MC doesn’t have any established motivations or reasons to follow along with the premise, so it feels sort of silly when they don’t make any attempt to ensure their personal safety and follow along the systems path without any real incentive to do so. There’s also just a lot of really arbitrary limitations on the MC that seem to appear and disappear at random.
I’m not really sure how to describe this? It reads like a very half assed shenhao novel. Some of the character settings were apparently forgotten, because they’re either re-mentioned as new information or changed? The story isn’t bad per se, it’s just incredibly lazy with little to no attention to detail. Plot advanced is also somewhat abrupt, the MC seems to arbitrarily involve themselves in things and for some reason everyone just sort of accepts her lead without question despite being a child. I’d say it’s somewhat below average up until the end, takes nose dive, rushed doesn’t even begin to describe the “ending”.
The infinite flow part of this novel is fantastic. The worlds are all somewhat generic premises taken to absurd extremes that are genuinely interesting to read about, like you’ll have a normal apocalypse scenario and it’ll just escalate to such absurd extremes that it’s amazing anyone at all is still alive. The MC herself is crazy lol, not in the normal novel crazy where the mc is a murder hobo (she kind of both is and isn’t?) but in the sense that her worldview is just super skewed and has zero understanding that she is the weird one. It’s great, which is why I’m so pissed off at the real world bits. The author trapped themselves with the original premise and not wanting to end it immediately, so the MC acts in ways that completely disregard her character setting and the narrative, and escalated to an ABSURD degree to deal with “real world” stuff. Problems that could be solved near instantly with zero issue whatsoever are dragged out for hundreds of chapters and blown up to such ridiculous situations that just feel wholly unnecessary. Characters are passed the idiot ball at arbitrary times or seem to have toggle-able god mode cheats whenever it comes time to deal with the main “plot”. I just read about characters desperately trying to survive, shitty family drama isn’t important by comparison yet the novel treats it like it is. It turns what would otherwise be an amazing story into a frustrating experience. My only other grievance is that the MC sometimes does stupid things for the sake of drama. When she could just turtle and not deal with the absurd bc given her cheat, she instead pretty consistently dives into these dangerous situations. Feels a little off given her described character.
The first 170 or so chapters once you get through the prologue are actually quite good. It’s a traveling style very much in line with Wandering Witch, that crosses over with many SOL anime’s. Then the traveling stops and the series immediately turns to garbage. The mc turns into this absurdly pathetic passive beta harem protagonist. Like a naked and willing girl that he actively likes could literally fall into his lap and he would run away. Which makes zero sense because he’s such a loser in this, zero reason for so many women to instantly like him. And he refuses to make a move with any of them. He’s just such an unbelievably pathetic coward, and constantly makes every wrong decision to cause maximum embarrassment (the authors attempts at humor post ch170 come suspiciously close to a humiliation fetish) despite being relatively intelligent up until that point. Just like, literally every single decision the MC makes post ch170 either actively sets up/causes a dramatic misunderstanding or is made to run away from a beautiful girl that he both likes and are chasing him. Every single part of this novel with the MC male is genuinely terrible, the author tries to insert themselves, and it clashes because the authors personality clearly doesn’t fit the Mc. There are good parts to this, but the author clearly wants to write a shitty SI harem fantasy but is too much a coward to go through with it so we’re left with this garbage.
I want to like this but the author is making it really difficult. Despite presenting itself as a sign in show off novel, it’s decidedly not one. The MC constantly leaves people who actively want to harm him alive, and just generally makes stupid decisions that spiral into bigger situations despite being entirely preventable, he actively disregards all advice and even his own agenda to seemingly set pointless pitfalls for himself for zero apparent reasons. And constantly swaps identities with his second brother whenever he does something interesting so people continue to look down on him. It’s quite frankly annoying to read, and entirely counterproductive to his goals, but the autor isn’t a good enough writer in setting up situations without that crutch. So we’re left with this frustrating mess.
