This book works well for fans of heroes and righteous protagonists. Sigh, I came to read this book expecting to find an ordinary main character who would face countless hardships and eventually succeed. But nope, he becomes a disciple of a literary giant after just a few chapters. As a result, his status elevates quickly, and everything becomes smooth sailing for the MC. If you read further, you might wonder when the MC actually struggled or got outsmarted in front of the big giants.
Good points: There is no racism, and Japan is praised well, unlike in other novels. The proverbs and philosophy are nice.
My only wish is that the author had given this MC Fang Yuan’s mindset, as it would fit well with the theme of survival during this era of war, where massacres were considered the norm..
