This novel focuses on mystery and survival, and I think it does a good job at slowly unraveling certain plot points. I also quite like the world building and how the author explains the relation between the blessed lands, the ‘real world’, and the immortals. When it comes to the mc, his growth is quite slow and his personality can only be described as a peculiar genius. He’s a morally grey person, but not someone who would be purposely cruel unless there are benefits involved. Overall he’s pretty laid back and humorous despite his situation, although he’s very aware of the danger and definitely fears death, but his obsession and curiosity overrules that. A good novel overall, I’m a sucker for survival/horror novels that have decent world building.
One of my favorite no cp cultivation novel. However for those who like ruthless mc or action packed novels then this is definitely not for you. The pace itself is quite slow, but in my opinion it breaks it up by letting the mc progress in his cultivation or understanding the world around him. The main focus of the novel is cultivating immortality and watching those sons and daughters of heaven fighting and climbing the ranks.
