I personally feel like there are good concepts in this novel but the whole world seems so disconnected to reality lol.
Everyone is evil and self-serving yet somehow not a single cultivator has invented slavery/gu bug related things, somehow there are so many people for strong man to exploit but are also treated as ants that die instantly, nascent to core formation causes a 6 year drought that kills tens of thousands of people and the mc family is stated to be a big family with just 2000 members. So how many people are there in this world? Like a couple million?
How do the immortal cultivators/imperial family survive when a Qi family (MC) needs 2000 people. Like based on the basic math, imperial family is at minimum a core formation family so qi > foundation > golden > nascent > core, based on their math of each tier needing 10x the resource of the previous tier so a core formation family needs around 20 million people to upkeep their resources.
I feel like the writer tries to make the story feel more dark by making everyone will betray over slight benefit but didn't do the math in the sense that if it is such a world, literally everyone should have long been slave collared and tied to 1 single immortal family with core formation as they can literally defeat nascent just by using a single scroll. But somehow 90% of people have freedom and there's 0 monitoring for different families and they only have to pay some tax and its done.
