The 13th year of the Jian'an era (208 A.D.), night, torrential downpour, Xuchang City's northern death row prison. 
Under the light of a flickering oil lamp, a thin, old man with a white beard handed a cloth bundle to the jailor, whispering softly, "This can save lives!" The jailor quietly tucked it away.
A thousand and seven hundred years later, a traveler arrived at the shrine of Hua Tuo in Jiangsu County. A couplet was written on the gate: 
"The physician who sliced open stomachs truly opened a new path for medicine; yet who could have known a jailer's incompetence would consign the book to flames?
The scholar who valued his integrity disdained serving under a ruthless leader; it is a pity that a historian’s falsification slandered his avoidance for a thousand autumns."
It speaks of how the Three Kingdom's divine physician Hua Tuo entrusted his life's work, the "Medical Practice Scripture," to a jailor on the night before his death. However, the man was too afraid to accept it. Hua Tuo could only burn his work in desperation, causing the medical scripture to be lost forever, a tragedy that can still evoke sighs of regret.
Over the long passage of time, with seas turning into mulberry fields, this event has long faded into the dust of history.
In the late autumn of 1975, at the foot of Nanshan Mountain in Wuyuan County, Jiangxi Province, a crowd of villagers gathered beneath a tall, old locust tree, all gazing up at a notice pasted on its trunk...
