The talented teenager Yi Zheng shined in the qualifying tournament at the age of eight and was hailed as the youngest Go prodigy with the greatest potential to become a professional.

He was a professional player for eight years, but instead of making any progress, he regressed. He ranked second from the bottom with a 2-16 score in the group round. He became known as a fallen genius, a "Zhongyong" (a tragic figure in Chinese culture), and was even expelled from the dojo.
