The Most Immortal Journey

Those who comprehend the Way of Heaven may not understand the human heart. Wherever there are people, there is a world of intrigue, even in the Heavenly Court. If everyone were inactive, without struggle, desire, or hope, the world would be stagnant. Cultivating immortality is inherently defying Heaven; the seven emotions and six desires are human nature. What good is becoming an immortal by forgetting emotions and desires? It's worse than rotten wood, which can still feel the cold of wind and frost, yet also the vibrant life of spring. To seek the Great Dao, one abandons emotions and desires, not realizing that seeking the Great Dao is itself desire.
