Well, I won't go on too much here with sophisms, this is a very good work, but it makes the same mistakes as other works that portray Greek mythology, that is, they follow the original story without changing almost anything and honestly the changes are insignificant, but that's not even the worst part in my opinion. The worst of all is the trashy and innocent MC at the level of Japanese MCs. How can a guy who supposedly reincarnated and lived as a god for thousands of years be so useless? There's one thing that I really like about stories, and that's the romance, but that's practically nonexistent here. The MC, even with the soul of a "normal" person and thousands of years, still looks like a 7-year-old child. Also, don't expect the story to progress quickly because even the important things take a long time. It follows like any other Chinese work. There are many useless chapters that could be shortened. Note: My entire opinion is about chapters 1/157, when the MC loses the opportunity to become king of the gods due to the sheer stupidity of the plot, because there's no other explanation. The MC is considered the god of wisdom/calm. For me, nothing would be more interesting than seeing a god like that leading the Greek gods, who are known for their madness (which obviously didn't happen).
Compared to other works of the genre and being a Chinese work, this light novel is very good, but there is something in it that I despise and that is why I will give up reading it. What would it be? Well, it is very superficial, it seems that I am always reading a summary of something instead of a real story. Everything is summarized to the maximum or superficially. Another thing is the dates of the months that are always jumping around a lot and we do not even know the specific year to have any idea of the direction of the story. To make matters worse, the MC is mediocre and only "won" everything it has because of the divine plot where the author favors it without much. Why I really wanted to like this story, but the author's writing style is terrible (I do not doubt that an AI would do a better and more detailed job than this).
This is one of the rare Viking stories that is really good, but it quickly gets lost in the endless battles without ever having time for the MC and the reader to relax, which is terrible since there are many chapters of this, but that's not what's really bad. The worst part is that there are many broken chapters or even exchanged for random texts, and from what I've researched in other Chinese raws, the chapters are broken so the story is kind of halfway through. There comes a part that becomes very confusing to understand because everything is very broken. I recommend reading the story up to chapter 200, but from that point on it's at your own risk.
Edit: from 285 onwards the chapters are simply broken, I don't know if they changed the names or mixed some different story in the middle of the chapters because it is simply unreadable, you can't follow the story unfortunately because this is one of the best Viking stories around here (there aren't many anymore)
My Thoughts on This Novel
If I had to describe this novel in one word, it would be "clichéd." It embodies everything we hate most about Chinese works: face-slapping moments every five chapters, and "young masters" appearing left and right. I initially started reading it due to my interest in the business world, but even there, the novel fails miserably.
Firstly, it's unclear what year the story takes place, which is very confusing. Apparently, it's set sometime in the 80s or 90s. Another issue is that the author gives "code names" to countries, making it even more ambiguous whether it's our world or an alternative one.
Regarding the "central" theme of the corporate world, the novel falls short. The MC is basically just an idea coordinator; he comes up with an initial business idea that apparently doesn't exist in that world and builds an entire company around it. Soon after, he hands the company over to someone else to manage. However, this leads to something that made me hate the novel even more: for insufficient reasons (or even with reasons, they're still insufficient), he gives company shares to his employees—shares that could one day be worth billions. He treats money as if it were nothing, which is ironic and ridiculous for a billionaire.
By chapter 233, he wanted to split a company—what would be the "Samsung" of China—out of sheer goodwill. Yet, he himself states the company will reach a trillion [currency] one day. What kind of logic is that? Who just throws money away like that?
The only good thing about this novel is the MC and FMC's relationship; finally, they're not two virgins. But this saves very little. There's also a lot of brainless nationalism from the MC's side, wanting to save the Chinese market by becoming the number one Chinese billionaire. I've seen hypocritical MCs before, but this one is definitely in my top 5.
and an excellent book for me, it worked as a fanfic, there were parts in the middle of it where I was really hooked on the story, but like thousands of other works, this one also fails in the ending, as well as being rushed in several moments, the protagonist appears little, it could be an ending Worse, believe me, there are worse endings, but they also leave loopholes and don't finish the entire work, especially the characters' stories, they are forgotten in the end, These last 5 final chapters are very disappointing.
This work of art heals your soul I've read a lot of fanfics and this one for me is by far the best of all in all the genres presented in it and as incredible as it may seem with a reasonably good and defined ending I'm perplexed that many don't know this masterpiece and it's not my exaggeration
