狡兔尚且三窟，人类的生存之所却只有地球这一处。2048年，地球气候正式进入不可逆的升温阶段，人类不得不加速探索文明延续之路。将地球腾挪到其它星系既难度太大，也无法解决“单点故障”这一问题，只能在有限时间内通过航天科技发展拓宽人类活动半径，同时借助生物科技和智能科技的发展延长存续周期。在微茫的宇宙中寻求文明延续成为整体最高目标，在其之下，每个个体都要做出自己的抉择。
