"The Magnificent Seven" is remake of "7 samurai". This novel is more. It has a vibe of "Hikaru no Go" Chinese remake, but also adds some deep original ideas (do not want to spoil them). Must read for those who like "Hikaru no Go".

It is way above average, and the inner thoughts/empire building genre is played well.

Not a fan of the genre as a whole, but this particular book is unexpectedly so sweet.
