Apparently @Shuch0ng didn't pay enough attention in his reading, the mc is ONE OF the powerhouses at that point that we know of, as people at the last level of grandmaster are know to be literally immortal, so there may be ones hidden, and there's something called "fear for my family", assiduously repeated throughout the novel to remind readers that the mc is not fearing for his life, but for his temple if he acts unscrupulous. The mc's supernatural powers makes him easily a target (by targeting his temple in revenge) if he doesn't pay attention on how he's using it. And until this point, there was no need to resurrect anyone close to him. I recommend to read it, as the mc's caution gradually drops, with reason, the further you read.

Good novel, his techniques don't train by themselves but knowing their personalities he can make them more efficient, exponentially. i'm at 114 and it's kinda slow paced, but i foresee that it'll get quicker later on, given the foreshadowing that happens a lot. The setting is good too, till now it's just a middle-level fantasy world, extraordinary powers has a lot of foreshadow, kinda like "a sage who trancended samsara" which looking back maybe the novel took a lot of inspiration from. I'll read further and give another opinion when appropriate. Edit 1: I'm by 300 right now, its slow as fuck, various developments to the killing temple, but the most we know about mc's cultivation is that he developed/broke through some techniques with only some unspecified mentions of cultivation level like "mid level of innate" (there's nine levels), so it seems like cultivation is a background thing at max not the objective of the story. Nevertheless the cultivation, I really like the progress of the plot, the author has been really opening the world and it's history, making the world much more 3 dimensional. With that being said, i'll keep the 5 star, but for the pace of the story/cultivation it's really a 4.5 for me. (for fuck's sake, the mc is only in the middle of the second realm out of six of known cultivation realms by now, but the author seems to focus much more on combat ability so it's not like he's not progressing)

Oct 1, 2024 : I beg of people to read further than 9 or 10 chapters before deciding he's naive and stupid, there's a reason the tag is evil protagonist

The author does not makes up new things, as a previous reviewer commented, almost all information given is traceable, with maybe a few details that JK left open filled. The only thing made up is the mc supposition of how modern magic originated and mc's innovative training and reasoning, but even then the *nature* of magic itself is spot on with JK's vision, from what I've seen. If you expect a fanfiction to keep all the plot of the original and not add anything new then you're in the wrong place friend.
