The blue blood that has been passed down since ancient times flows under the dark tide, and the great and brilliant Duke intends to subvert the music of order. The unknown secret history disappears into nothingness, and the wizard who travels through time and space longs to see through the delirium of the world. As for me? I don't care. After traveling to the world of cultivating immortals, Xu Changsheng, who was bent on pursuing immortality, lived as a mortal for 18 years in obscurity. When he despaired of the path to immortality, he accidentally awakened the golden finger.

Ah? If the offspring's cultivation level breaks through, then his cultivation level can be returned?

Isn't that a system of having many children, bringing you great blessings? Give me as many children as possible!

I want the entire world of immortal cultivation to be filled with the blood of the descendants of Yan and Huang.

What? To strengthen offspring, you need spirit stones? You need lifespan?

Moreover, only when the offspring’s cultivation level breaks through can one receive the cultivation level return reward?

Alas, why is this system a little different from other systems that wish to have many children and be blessed?

Let’s see how our Ancestor Xu rose step by step from being a casual cultivator to the most powerful ancestor in the world.

This book is not of the traditional type of story about having many children and being blessed. It is a slow-burning, family-oriented story. It is not an invincible and exciting story, nor is it brainless. The protagonist is rather cowardly, and there are many female protagonists, but none of them are studs!

The combat system will not collapse! ! Fellow Taoists, you can read with confidence!

Read 63Ch. #60
After reading 60 chapters, I’d say this is a below-average novel overall. I honestly don’t understand why the author chose to use the name Red Dead Redemption when the story has nothing to do with the game—none of its characters or events are referenced. The main character is simply obsessed with freeing Chinese slaves and bringing Chinese people to live in America, eventually making them the dominant force. I’m not sure if the author has an obsession with America or is driven by some strange nationalistic agenda. In any case, the novel is just a series of fights, one after the other. The characters don’t think or behave like Western or American characters, if I can put it that way. Instead, they resemble those from poorly written Chinese web novels—characters who either blindly worship the protagonist or constantly oppose him, with no real lives or depth beyond that. I’d rate it 1.9 out of 5
Read 18Ch. #1194
I remember this novel — I had read it on raw Chinese sites up to chapter 500+. Those were good times. The first 250 chapters were really solid; after that, it ranged from average to below average. The main character has a family he genuinely cares about: a father, mother, and two brothers (and I was honestly glad there was no younger sister). What made the first 250 chapters so enjoyable was the world-building and the detailed cultivation system. You could clearly understand how the MC created undead beings, the materials needed, the rituals involved — there were many non-combat chapters that weren’t boring at all. But after chapter 250, it just became another battle-focused novel. The cultivation system stopped being explained; it felt like the MC could summon undead creatures without effort or logic. Everything started coming too easily — techniques, spells, treasures — they just fell into his lap. One positive thing: the MC is not eunuch-coded, and his wives aren’t infertile. He marries around chapter 200+ and has a son. Later, around chapters 400–500, he takes in many concubines and builds his own clan, fathering many children. I really liked his character development. He literally started from the bottom of society — he was the only hope for his family to live a better life. His circumstances mirrored mine in some ways, so I really connected with him. Up to chapter 500, there weren’t any arrogant young masters or cliché bullies either, which was refreshing. He used to hate noble and powerful clans for hoarding resources and knowledge, but time forced him to become one of them by creating his own clan. Overall, I’d give it a 3.9/5.
Read 451Ch. #287
Alright, after reading nearly 200 chapters, here’s my take on it: This novel falls into the type where the MC starts off humble, avoiding trouble and staying away from complicated relationships that could drag him into unnecessary messes. And for the most part, that’s how it goes—up until around chapter 130. That’s when the author starts telling you that the MC can no longer remain low-key and must head to the capital, where countless dangerous conspiracies and high rewards await. Gradually, the stakes rise, and the MC’s problems keep getting bigger and bigger. Eventually, the author suggests that the MC is actually the mastermind behind some of these conspiracies, pulling the strings from the shadows. I didn’t really like this direction. If the MC's "cheat" or special advantage had been different from the way it’s portrayed here, maybe I would’ve enjoyed it more—but the way he uses it just doesn’t feel satisfying. In 200 chapters, he only ends up having 11 children, and only about 7 of them actually contribute anything meaningful to the MC’s progression. As the story goes on, the number of new children drops to the point where you start wondering if the cheat is still active or has just faded away. Another frustrating negative point: as the chapters progress, the pacing slows down more and more. There are a lot of POVs from characters outside the MC’s family, which makes the story drag. The world-building is pretty basic too—like a generic commercial web novel. There are no real details about the cultivation system or the sub-professions. It’s just stuff like: “The MC successfully made the required pills.” My rating: 3.4/5

A good novel so far—everything is going well. The world-building and characters are decent, and the main character is well-crafted. Overall: 4.5/5
Read 86Ch. #53
So far, it’s an enjo١yable novel. I haven’t found anything particularly annoying — everything is good: the characters, and the world-building. If you've read many novels from "The Golden Finger", you’ll notice a fair number of quotes borrowed from there. And if you've read a novel called 国王 available on the site, you’ll see a significant amount of content taken from it. However, this novel lacks some important details, and without them, it won’t reach the level of a great novel — just slightly above average. My personal rating is 4 out of 5, but I gave it a 5/5 to balance out some of the illogical reviews. --- **Edit:** After the latest chapter I reached, the main character has become unbearable for me, and the rest of the characters have become incredibly shallow. The protagonist now wants to help all the poor and enslaved people without asking for anything in return, aiming to improve their lives instantly and through unrealistic means. Within less than 20 days, the farmland is almost fully grown and ready for harvest. Some might argue that this is a fantasy world and that logic doesn't always apply—but the author doesn't even attempt to explain how these things are possible. The side characters fall into only three repetitive categories: those who blindly pledge loyalty to the main character, those who oppose them for no apparent reason, and a female character who just wants to stay close to them. Even the development of the territory lacks any depth. The main character simply gives an order—like “build a castle”—and the side characters carry it out, with no explanation about construction methods, materials, or design. **Overall, after this shift, I’d rate it 2/5. I don’t think I’ll continue reading it, mainly because the main character just doesn’t fit the world or era they’re in.** ---
Read 73Ch. #47
It's an exciting novel—I really enjoyed the concept of the main character's abilities and the events that unfolded. However, the world-building and power system were barely mentioned, which seriously hurt the story. It had the potential to be an above-average novel. On top of that, the main character is a lone wolf, so you won’t find many other characters that capture your interest. 2/5
Read 59Ch. #53
An enjoyable novel with a writing style that captivates me, somewhat reminiscent of the classic writing styles of older authors. The concept of the novel — particularly the 'golden finger' ability used by the main character — is entertaining. I initially expected it to be overpowered to the point of ruining the story, but fortunately, that wasn’t the case; everything remained fun and engaging. The world-building is very well done. The story takes place in a low-level wizarding world, where a rank-3 Wizard Apprentice can control nearby kingdoms and run a wizard academy or tower. The protagonist’s character is very well crafted. However, I do have two main issues: First, the author's limited knowledge of Western fantasy terms and traditions. He tends to use cultivation and martial arts novel terminology instead. For example: 'For him, "breaking through" to a Wizard Apprentice in the shortest possible time was the most important thing. Any Wizard exchange meetings were too far away for him.' In my experience, there is no such thing as a "breakthrough" or an annual gathering to gain experience in traditional Western wizard settings — such elements are typical of cultivation novels, not wizard lore. This directly leads to my second issue: the characters. Due to the author's unfamiliarity with Western fantasy tropes, the characters are written in the style of cultivation novel characters, which affects their authenticity within the setting. Overall, I would rate it 3/5. I hope the quality improves in the future.
Read 17Ch. #17
I didn’t expect anyone else to know this novel. I’ve read 53 chapters of it. It’s a classic magic-themed story. If you enjoy that genre, give it a try. But if you’ve already read similar ones and don’t want to repeat the experience, it might not be for you. The first 40 chapters were average to good—I found some of the ideas to be somewhat fresh. However, I didn’t quite enjoy the chapters that followed. The author made the main character someone with a rank 2 magical qualification (qualifications are divided into 5 ranks, with rank 5 being the highest and rank 1 the lowest). The chance of someone with a rank 2 qualification becoming an official mage is about 1%, while for rank 1, it's around 0.1%. The character also lacks elemental affinity, and according to the author, the goal is for the protagonist to master all forms of magic. I personally don’t like this kind of setup. I’d rate it 3/5 . I might come back to it once more chapters are released.
Read 277Ch. #166
So far, the novel is very good. There's not much filler content, and there are no stupid characters. The world-building is decent. However, the main drawbacks are that the author doesn't focus deeply on explaining the world. While it's clear that the author is trying to write a high-quality novel, the writing style and lack of experience have lowered the overall quality. For example, there are parts that should not have been rushed or summarized, and other parts that needed more detailed explanations. The writing style lacks—or perhaps has very little—of the literary or epic narration that would suit the atmosphere of the story. Finally, the most critical issue is the author's (or main character’s) strong attachment to China. The protagonist even changed his name in the current chapters to a Chinese one (and it seems he’ll be using it for a long time). There are also hints and elements that suggest a heavy focus on Chinese culture. The protagonist’s "cheat" ability is basically a chat group, and so far, all the members who’ve appeared are either Chinese or deeply rooted in Chinese culture. I don’t know—maybe the author is writing it this way to avoid being accused of betraying or not loving China. Also, the protagonist seems to have forgotten his family or is deliberately avoiding forming any emotional ties with them.
Read 141Ch. #122
A novel that can at best be described as below average. It has several issues that prevent it from reaching even an average level. The first problem is inconsistencies in the chapters—sometimes the protagonist's age is 15, other times 14. You never know which one is correct. Another major issue is the author's lack of knowledge about Western fantasy. He uses cultivation and martial arts terminology, which is a recurring problem with most Chinese authors. Another flaw is the MC's personality. He is essentially a luck protagonist from villain novels, the kind that villains kill. He doesn’t plan, doesn’t take the right first step, and constantly interferes in others’ affairs. If he sees someone being slightly oppressed, he will immediately reveal himself to the enemy and expose his new power in front of everyone, without even bothering to disguise himself. He can't even think of waiting for the enemy to leave and assassinating them while wearing a mask. Imagine, the author couldn't even conceive of this simple scenario! Instead, he went back to 2017-era brainless MCs, who rely entirely on luck or a system to survive. Because of this MC’s foolish actions, he offends the major nobles of the city. Then the author introduces a plotline where MC hates nobles and refuses to be flexible, while randomly inserting outdated communist philosophies. I really don’t understand why this novel has high ratings. Another issue is the system—it literally turned the MC into a complete idiot. If a lizard suddenly transformed into a dragon, it would naturally become an arrogant, overconfident fool. This overpowered system ruins the fun of the story. And, of course, the characters are extremely shallow—nobles are either pure evil, or they are kindhearted noble girls who need rescuing. Overall Rating: 1.4/5.
