Too boring. It's a pure power fantasy with no humor, romance, mystery or anything else. That'd be acceptable if the Mc wasn't op, which completely removes the only things that makes pure power fantasy interesting, survival tension and grinding for more power. I'm a huge fan of op Mc, but you have to have some more aspects to keep it interesting. Humor, alternative goals, romance, interesting relationships.
I think the author was aiming for his Mc to be a cold hearted schemer, but this guy is the same as every other Chinese Mc, loved by fate and given many opportunities. His schemes are like child's play compared to fang yuan, often costing him just as much as he gains.
What is with the ridiculous number of five star reviews? The novel is complete trash that only gets worse as the story progresses. By the time the finale arrives, it's to the point where if an eight year old stuck a thousand random words together, it might make more sense.
I honestly don't get what all the hype is about. I can't even enjoy the actual story because 75-100% of every chapter is just people from all ages of DD reacting to Huo Yuhao actions. The story isn't immersive at all. It's like watching a movie where there's a whole bunch of people in a room that are reacting to some movie clips shown on a screen within the room. I want to watch the actual movie but the screen I'm watching only shows stupid reactions of people actually watching the movie, so I cannt immerse myself in the story at all. If I could give negative stars, I would.
The novel is excellent. My only gripe is that this guy is a total wuss when it comes to women. He's the 'women will only slow down the speed at which I draw my sword' kind of guy. His second spirit is weird tho.
It was okay until the author destroyed the plot in the last 50 chapters. Mc becomes a completely ruthless murder hobo with no bottom line for minor benefits. Someone I wouldn't want to touch with a 100 foot pole.
The Mc in this novel is utterly detest able. Complete profit driven sociopath with absolutely no bottom line. Would sell his mother to a brothel if they paid him enough. Most of the protagonists and antagonists in this novel are utter garbage as people, the only one I really feel bad for is qian renxue. I think the author did an excellent job portraying the Mc because I'm 90% sure this is exactly how the author wanted Mc to be. If there is one lesson in this novel it's that there are no eternal allies only eternal interests. Ultimately the novel offers an extremely bleak outlook on the world and is unfortunately pretty realistic as people like Mc are generally the ones that win because they truly stand for nothing but their own interests.
The book is well written, but the Mc is just not my type of person. She's a scheming psychopath who likes to play with others lives and feelings for her own amusement. She's not necessarily bloodthirsty or terrible to her companions, but she's a psychopath without a doubt. Even people close to her are treated as amusing toys. Again, it's well written, just not my cup of tea.
It's really bad. All the Douluo novels like this tend to blacken tang San and his group, but this one really takes it a step further. Author uses every possible little detail he can to paint Tang San and Tang Hao as despicable. If you read it, you'll understand what I'm talking about by chapter 5
