The pacing is so strange. The romance is slow for most of the book and then they buy a house and a car, have children and get married in just a few chapters. I think the author just wanted to finish it and condensed 100 chapters into 10.
He has this dream ability with an XP system that is entirely glossed over and never mentioned again after the first few times he uses it. It’s like two novels combined and neither of them were thought out.
Gave it an extra star because at least he finished off the major plot point, even if it was incredibly rushed.
I enjoyed it, it’s wholesome. It’s a shame the update speed is so slow - only a new chapter every three days. Everything else I read is two new chapters a day…
Still worth reading, but maybe in a few years when it’s completed.
It’s good. The reviews calling MC a pathetic loser clearly didn’t read many chapters. The female protagonist is much more clingy than he is, and they have a mutually-loving relationship pretty early on. The reason she rejects him at first is because she’s afraid of love and future betrayal - she has trauma from when her mortal parents put her in a pot over a fire and tried to cook/eat her (she was rescued by her master).
There are also some side characters who overcome their own struggles to reconnect with their old flames, and the MC helps them re-find love.
I liked it 👍
Main character is so OP everything becomes meaningless. The numbers also get ridiculous- trillions of HP and damage, and they’re still on Newbie Island…
The author has an extreme hatred of the Japanese (not completely surprising given it’s a Chinese novel). One Japanese guy offends the protagonists’ group so they order everyone to round up every Japanese person on the island and kill them.
Male lead flirts with pretty much every female character, often touching their bodies (chests, legs, cheeks), even after confirming his relationship with the female lead. Every female character is completely infatuated with him - it’s basically a harem except he doesn’t have intercourse with the other characters. It’s also quite boring and honestly not worth your time.
