Just a personal preference, I would rather hope a MC has more pride and doesn't think with his dick. Wouldn't mind if MC was a little more selfish either... Sigh. It's fine to start off with a shitty marriage, but it's stupid if MC eventually consummated that marriage instead of finding a way to gain his freedom.

This MC is very annoying when it comes to girls. He says he wants to focus on martial arts, but keeps having inappropriate moments with women or has ambiguous relationships with them. He is one of those who doesn't know how to say no but instead stutters into a marriage agreement. This author obviously is thinking with his dick, which is unfortunate cause this novel was pretty fun to read with it's panel, skill growth, and martial Dao cultivation system.

One of, if not, the best Honghuang novel! MC is very smart and steady with a Prehistoric World development mindset.

Old Daoists will find this novels stupid and cringe. Typical annoying MC to read. Young Daoists will enjoy this self-insert power fantasy. Sigh... System novels are just so stupid to read... It's so rare to find an MC that doubts the system or a novels that actually shows that the system has an in-universe origin. Systems that don't are just plain invincible and is no different than plot armor. How boring.

Writing seems good. Story seems to have potential, but I lost interest after the shitty romance arc. MC has an unexpected wife and child and not in the typical way. Felt stupid and felt like future baggage. Not to mention reduces the potential uniqueness of his genetics by prematurely passing it on from the beginning of the story.

I am probably hundred times more experienced in these novels than Dark Fairy, and read complete novels with the shittiest translations for years before AI translation became a thing. However times have changed so my standards naturally change. The overall translation of this novel is good, but unfortunately I cannot appreciate this novel with the recurringly blatant Chinese name in a western setting. It's annoying. I am not gonna argue with a child like Dark Fairy. However, I am gonna try continuing to read this novel and update my review. That is because I found out we can replace terms in the novel. I plan to set an auto replace term for the MC Chinese name and other Chinese names I find to western names to allow the story to properly flow. Temp stars from 1 star to 3 star. ------- Update : 3stars back down to 2 stars. Overall, it had an interesting start and interesting golden fingers, different from the typical magic wizard academy stories, but there is no excitement to it. It's rather boring and there chapters sometimes appear to mini timeskip so it's hard to follow between scenes. Dark Fairy : The empires name is also annoying, I just didn't mention it cause I was able to send my point across with the MC name issue. Eveyone has their own quirks when reading, and I simply cannot read such annoying naming issues. There is nothing sad about it. You seem to have a particular desire to criticize and demean others for their opinions. Best check yourself first before judging others' characters. The only reason I responded so fast is cause I happened to come across this novel again and saw the review got updated and was curious.

Fun novel to read. Relaxing. Not a cultivation fanatic but takes cultivation in stride while enjoying life. Thanks to the system that allowed him to pursue such a lifestyle and embrace such a personality.

Pretty interesting world building. However it is not enough for me to endure the overwhelming Chinese clichés of harem, aphrodisiac accidental sex, faceslapping, young master being offended or going out of their way to create conflict only to die a dogs death ( like how can a cultivation world be filled to the brim with such idiots...), kill the young only for the old to come out and also die, and every single woman Mc meets starting to follow MC or fall in love with him for no real romantic reason except : he is strong, he is cool, and we are friends, so let's have sex. I wish Chinese Authors have more class when they write these fantasy novels. Like these clichés are old and tiresome. I endured them when I was a naive novice Daoist but as a Dao Master now I refuse to allow these devilish writing corrupt my pure mind and heart any further.

Dammit... Why you gotta keep Chinese name Ina medieval setting magic and sword world. What kind of immersion can we expect when we are constantly reminded of this crap.

Boring read. Dreary. In addition, he never went back to finding out truth of parents deaths despite having brought it up in 1st or second chapter.
