Very well-written novel as of the time of reading.
The protagonist is compelled into the path of demonic cultivation and must adapt to his new identity. While he possesses a system, it is not intrusive; rather, it is thoughtfully integrated into the story. The system enables him to improve his techniques through the use of "placement slots," which are restricted by his cultivation realm.
The world-building aligns with typical xianxia tropes—nothing groundbreaking, but sufficiently developed to support the narrative. The standout feature of this novel is undoubtedly the main character, who is written very realistically and humanly. His interactions with others are often driven by personal gain, which is fitting for a demonic cultivator and adds to the authenticity of the setting.
The lore and hidden aspects of the world are revealed progressively as the protagonist's cultivation advances, maintaining a steady sense of intrigue.
Overall, this is a highly engaging and skillfully written novel. I’m giving it 5 stars because it's good and to help offset the unwarranted low ratings it has received.
