Look at the bad comment made about this novel, it's very misleading. The protagonist isn't truly evil, he's more of a neutral good type. He doesn't kill and only makes deals, so it wouldn't be wrong to classify him as neutral good.
I don't understand the high rating — it's simply very poorly done. The protagonist is naive and seriously questionable in terms of IQ. He behaves pretentiously and justifies his actions with disconnected elements. It's overly wordy and arrogant, yet shy at heart.
Maybe someone out there likes it, but honestly, speaking without a filter, this fanfic is low quality — really bad, just like the rest of the genre. The best one I’ve read is "Bone King: Welcome the Birth of the King."
After reading that, I have nothing but disdain for these poorly portrayed, unoriginal stories with perverted protagonists.
At the beginning, the story was decent, not too bad, and I’d give it a 3-star rating. However, starting from the arc where the combat power reaches the level of venerables, issues arise. As is common with Chinese authors, there’s blatant xenophobia, particularly against Japan, which I find disgusting. This prejudice is deliberate and overt, even if the author claims it’s not really about Japan. The references, stereotypes about the population, and character portrayals are offensive and exclusionary, depicting the Japanese as cruel villains for no justifiable reason. This thinly veiled mask of Chinese prejudice against foreigners is repulsive. Without this issue, I’d give it a 4, but due to this idiotic approach and the lack of intelligence to craft a better plot without spewing this filthy prejudice, it doesn’t even deserve 3 stars. As expected, the narrative reflects the corruption and ambition typical of some Chinese stories, which subtly portray the Chinese as just and heroic while depicting the Japanese and other foreigners as inhumane and utterly evil, with not a single positive exception.
The protagonist is extremely hypocritical. I almost dropped the novel when he said that killing is wrong and went on with a bunch of blah-blah-blah, claiming he doesn’t find it normal. In my opinion, the protagonist’s behavior is completely inconsistent with the world of Naruto. In the real world, people avoid killing each other because of strict laws and rules that impose severe consequences. However, it all boils down to a matter of social coexistence, aiming to maintain a stable society where everyone contributes to the common good.In the context of the novel’s universe, the protagonist should respect the rules of the world he’s in and understand that, regardless of the differences between worlds, they are essentially the same. What restricts people’s actions are the rules, not excessive goodness or evil. It all comes down to a matter of benefits and individual choices, influenced by certain circumstances.
