Way too watery conflicts and plots that could have been resolved in two to three chapters took three to four times as much. Could have been better if the author just stop typing bloating his word count.

Review: A Unique and Engaging Kingdom-Building Novel (Up to Chapter 2500) This is a surprisingly solid kingdom-building novel with a fresh twist: the protagonist gradually builds his empire while traveling the world atop a small turtle. He starts modestly, engaging in trade with cities and kingdoms to acquire resources and upgrade his pets. The story shines in how it blends strategy, development, and world-building, with a satisfying progression that feels earned. While it does include a harem, the female characters are thankfully not just ornaments—they have distinct personalities and actively contribute to the protagonist’s personal growth and the development of his kingdom. That said, the trope of every major female character falling for the MC can feel a bit forced and detracts slightly from the otherwise grounded tone. One of the strongest aspects of the novel is its slice-of-life moments. It frequently zooms in on the everyday lives of people within the MC’s city (which eventually grows into a full-fledged kingdom), showing how living standards improve over time. These segments give the world a vibrant, lived-in feel that many similar stories lack. I highly recommend reading up to around chapter 2500—right before the MC leaves his home world to explore space. After that point, the novel unfortunately shifts into a more generic, action-heavy xianxia style. The thoughtful diplomacy, trade, and relationship-building give way to constant battles, looting, and power-scaling, which may disappoint readers who were drawn to the earlier kingdom-building elements.

This fanfic deserves a much higher rating than it’s getting. The story is surprisingly well thought-out. The main character is genuinely intelligent—he doesn’t just rush into things with brute strength. One of the most impressive aspects is how he strategically kept Rocks’ pirates together, preventing internal conflict and preserving their strength. It’s a fresh take that keeps the pirate world feeling formidable throughout the narrative. What really stands out is how the MC slowly and methodically works to undermine the World Government. His plans are detailed and long-term, showing a level of patience and cunning that you don’t often see in overpowered protagonists.

Why is the rating so low? This fanfic is actually quite good! The Fairy Tail characters stay true to their personalities, and the story manages to retain the spirit of the anime throughout its 170+ chapters so far. The original character (MC) is well-balanced—not overpowered, but strong enough to take on villains with a fair amount of struggle, which keeps the fights interesting instead of relying from the usual ‘nakama plot armor’ that helps Natsu and his team beat enemies that are way beyond their league. Another refreshing aspect is the portrayal of female characters. They aren’t all immediately infatuated with the MC; only one has developed romantic feelings for him so far.
