I Stand Above a Million Gods

My name is Leng Xiaolu, and I'm eighteen years old.

On the surface, I'm just a refugee from Black Iron City, a scavenger in the Old District, a reserve cadre for a mysterious organization, an enforcer in the New District, and a student at the Apollo Academy. Sometimes, for fun, I impersonate the infamous Old District assassin, "Jack the Ripper."

But my true identity is far more complex. I am a remnant of the old world, an apostle from hell, a professional destroyer of divine "miracles," and a greedy ghost with a strong moral compass... who isn't afraid to open fire at a moment's notice. And yes, I sometimes impersonate that assassin I already took care of myself.

The year is 2048. "Miracles" have descended upon the world, wiping out most of humanity. The survivors, in a twisted turn of fate, now worship these destroyers as gods. Those "blessed" by the gods become Chosen Ones with superhuman senses, and the most favored among them become Awakeners, granted special divine protection.

I, Leng Xiaolu, was once deemed unworthy of life by these very gods. Now, I have returned from the depths of hell with a single purpose: to hunt them down and make them pay for their crimes in blood. My vendetta against the gods has just begun.
