Finally, one day, Lucian arrived in a world without superheroes, superheroes, Batman, or the Joker. He boredly replayed an ordinary life, depressed, exhausted, and utterly bored. Then, one day, through a crack in the window, he glimpsed Batman soaring through Gotham. He washed out his hair, stained black by disposable dye, removed his warm, soft brown contact lenses, and finished a whole bottle of now-useless brain suppressant medication. Then, standing in the spotlight, he gazed at the birth of Batman with a feeling of emotion and nostalgia, and let out his first laugh.
