The Protaganist Wang Yuan is actually a side character who only truly appears in like a tenth of the chapters, otherwise there may be just a comment or two every dozen chapters lest we forget he was even in the story. The true main character of the story is Tongtian, while Wang Yuan is basically his goldfinger, hell even Wang Yuan's system turned itself into Tongtian's nourishments in the end.

If you can make it passed the first 50 chapters, it becomes tolerable. I feel like the author tried to force the mc to be comparable to sages too early when he should have been taking his time. Along with the fact that the system was explained terribly, especially when the mc suddenly has to interact with the books somehow before writing them. Lich Calamity only lasted about 80-100 chapters. Which probably means the conferred gods calamity will take twice as many chapters. I have seen this trope of writing/reading novel to become stronger a few times in honghuang and this one is slightly below average; I rate it 2.7 stars. ***Modify*** After chapter 152 (section 173) it becomes a different novel with a protagonist of the same name. Rated: 1 Star

Its not bad! Yes, there are a few changes compared to the original but it's not crazy considering that Soul Lands storyline has differences between the novel, manhua and donghua. The MC's presence created small butterfly affects in the short term but become larger in the long term. The story starts about 40-50 years before the plot. As for what the other guy is saying. Dugu Bo does know about one or two immortal herbs, but it's not surprising that he could discover a few of them in books. After all the MC learned about all of them in a book he accidently found in a garrison's library. As for asking what the mc will pay it's basically a rehash of what Tang San did, just that the introducer was Dugu Xin instead of Dugu Yan.

Its not bad!!! Do note that the summary is for a different novel! ***Update*** It was fine until it followed the trope of the mc becoming hunyuan/saint. then with the coming investure of the gods, the mc suddenly becomes a side character. It took a little over 100 chapter to become hunyuan, while investure of the gods was takes over 200 chapters and still isnt completed. Sometime passed ch 300 it becomes a different novel with a mc of the same name who was also hunyuan instead of a saint, only his origin was the human race instead of an innate bamboo.

The idea was good, but the execution was terrible!

It was barely readable in the start, but it gots worse when he receives hashirama cells. The mc starts acting like young master and is just causing trouble with the village higher ups, even though his strength is only around elite jonin when using sage mode. There are also parts that dont make sense like chidori being used before kakashi is born, mc suddenly using sage mode after recieving hashira cells with no training when previously he almost died from natural energy.

Its Okay, just a bit boring
