The person who gave a perfect rating is likely a bot account. Why? Because the story is actually pretty average—arguably too cliché and simple for a novel of this kind. However, I personally still gave it 5 stars because the concept fits my taste.

The Gu-based power system (spiritual insects with unique abilities) feels fresh and creative in the xianxia genre. The main character (MC) stands out as humble, extremely cautious, and respectful—unlike the usual arrogant or manipulative protagonists. His personality adds charm early on. However, the story declines as it progresses. Too many key developments rely on luck. The MC frequently finds the exact tools, knowledge, or help he needs at the perfect time. This reduces tension and makes conflicts feel too easy and unearned. Repetition also becomes a problem. Technical terms, cultivation stages, and reactions like “her beautiful face turned red” are reused too often. For instance, the explanation of the “Nascent Soul” stage is repeated with almost the same wording within a few chapters. This slows down pacing and makes the plot feel stagnant. After the MC builds his sect, the plot expands but loses focus. Many new characters appear without depth, and the world feels small because everything revolves around the MC. No subplot evolves on its own, which hurts worldbuilding. The shift to the Spirit Realm, meant to raise the stakes, instead resets the MC’s growth. He becomes overly cautious again, and his status drops—from sect founder to a worker. Progress from earlier chapters feels erased. New enemies also lack depth, and conflicts follow a predictable loop: issue appears → easy solution → move on. As a harem fan, I still found enjoyment. The female characters are shallow (admire → fall in love → follow), but the romance, while emotionally light, adds some fun. That’s why I rated this higher than others. 🎯 Conclusion This novel began with strong promise: a unique MC, creative world, and a fresh power system. But repetition, shallow conflict, and weak side characters drag it down. The Spirit Realm arc especially feels like a step backward. Rating: 3.8/5 – Best for fans of light cultivation and harem fantasy. Not ideal for readers seeking deep conflict or character growth.

I don't really like this story because it involves a gender-bender element. On top of that, I really dislike reverse harems—where the main character is a female surrounded by multiple male characters. Honestly, if the story had just focused on a single male protagonist, it would have been so much better. Also, instead of using a gender-bent character (a male turned into a female), it would have been more natural and appealing if they had just used an actual female character from the start.

It's pretty good because the main shop is not a eunuch. But as usual there are also shortcomings, namely I don't like the main character

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ (4/5) The story starts off quite solid, especially up to chapter 80. The MC is portrayed as cold, quiet, and efficient—taking down enemies without unnecessary talk. But after reaching the Grandmaster level, his personality shifts drastically. He becomes arrogant, talks too much, and even wastes time responding to irrelevant side characters. This inconsistency breaks the immersion from his earlier persona. The dialogue also becomes repetitive. Many of the “cool” phrases are reused too often, which reduces their emotional impact over time. The fight scenes lack tension. The MC often defeats enemies with just 3 to 5 techniques, whether they’re the same moves or not. The battles feel quick, one-sided, and offer little challenge. His reactions during fights are almost always the same, making the action feel predictable and monotonous. The plot also follows a repetitive pattern: encounter enemy → fight → kill → loot → escape → repeat. It quickly becomes formulaic and dull. Another frustrating point is the MC’s exaggerated reaction to the world’s cruelty. Despite having experienced countless brutal events, he still acts shocked as if it’s the first time. Even when the situation isn’t serious or doesn’t directly involve him, he often responds in an overly dramatic way. This lack of emotional growth makes his character feel stagnant and less believable. He also tends to question or seem confused by things that should be fairly obvious if he simply thought more carefully. One more thing that feels off is the cultivators' lifespan. In this novel, their lifespans seem too short compared to their power level. For example, a Golden Core cultivator is said to have a lifespan of around 500 years, even though the power level is already quite high. In most other cultivation novels, long lifespans are a natural consequence of cultivation progress—or at least implied. In comparison, this makes the system in this story feel less consistent with the standards of the genre.

Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5) This novel started with a promising premise, but unfortunately, it quickly falls apart due to poor execution. The main character, Ji Xiu, is overly arrogant — a typical overpowered figure found in many novels of this genre. It makes the story feel repetitive and dull. One of the most frustrating parts is the inconsistency in the plot. At the beginning, the protagonist says he wants to stay low-profile and avoid drawing attention. Yet, just a few chapters later, he's already going around looking for people to defeat just to show off his strength. That completely contradicts what was established earlier and makes the character feel inconsistent. I understand why many readers gave it low ratings. Personally, I still gave it three stars because there's some potential in the story — but unfortunately, it's overshadowed by inconsistent characters and a rushed storyline.
